Incesticide is a compilation album by the American rock band Nirvana, released on 14 December 1992 in Europe and 15 December 1992 in the United States. It serves as a bridge between their breakthrough album Nevermind and their final studio effort In Utero, collecting various outtakes, B-sides, demos, and radio sessions recorded between 1988 and 1991. 

• Purpose: The album was released primarily to provide fans with high-quality versions of songs that were already widely circulating as low-quality bootlegs.
• Artwork: The cover art was painted by frontman Kurt Cobain (credited as "Kurdt Kobain"). He reportedly agreed to the compilation's release on the condition that he had complete control over the visual design.
• Personnel: Because the songs were recorded at different times, the album features four different drummers: Chad Channing, Dan Peters, Dale Crover, and Dave Grohl.
• Notable Content:
  • The single "Sliver" and its B-side "Dive".
  • Covers of songs by The Vaselines ("Molly's Lips", "Son of a Gun") and Devo ("Turnaround"), mostly from BBC Radio sessions.
  • A "New Wave" version of the Nevermind track "Polly".
• Liner Notes: Early pressings included a message from Cobain famously denouncing homophobia, racism, and misogyny, telling fans with those views to "leave us the fuck alone!".
