Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983 by vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine following his departure from Metallica. Recognized as one of the "Big Four" of American thrash metal—alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax—the band is celebrated for its technically complex guitar work, fast tempos, and intricate musicianship. 

Retirement: In 2025, Dave Mustaine announced that Megadeth would release their final studio album and embark on a farewell tour in 2026. This decision was largely driven by Mustaine’s worsening hand pain caused by arthritis and Dupuytren's contracture.
