Type O Negative was an influential American gothic metal band from Brooklyn, New York, active from 1989 until 2010. Often called "The Drab Four," the band was famous for its unique blend of doom metal, gothic rock, and a darkly self-deprecating sense of humour.

The End of the Band
On April 14, 2010, Peter Steele died at the age of 48 due to sepsis caused by diverticulitis (initially reported as heart failure). Shortly after, the remaining members announced they would not continue the band, stating that "when Peter died, Type O Negative died with him"
