Legacy and Final Chapter
Following internal tensions, the band played its final show, "A Chapter Called Children of Bodom," in Helsinki on 15 December 2019. Alexi Laiho subsequently formed Bodom After Midnight but tragically passed away in December 2020 due to health complications. In early 2026, the surviving members reunited for sold-out tribute shows in Helsinki, which led to the announcement of their permanent return to celebrate their 30-year legacy.
