Kreator is a pioneering German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Alongside Destruction and Sodom, they are considered one of the "Big Three" of Teutonic thrash metal, a movement that significantly influenced the development of death and black metal.

Over their 40-year career, Kreator has evolved from raw, aggressive thrash in the 1980s to experimental gothic metal in the 1990s, eventually returning to a refined, melodic thrash sound in the 21st century. Their 16th studio album, Krushers of the World, was released in January 2026.
