Dark Funeral is an iconic Swedish black metal band formed in Stockholm in 1993 by guitarists Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon. They are considered pioneers of the second wave of black metal, known for their high-speed, aggressive sound and lyrical themes focusing on Satanism and anti-Christianity.

• 30th Anniversary: In 2024, the band celebrated 30 years with a special edition re-release of their debut EP, featuring re-recordings of classic tracks like "Open The Gates".
• "In League With Satan" Tour: Scheduled for late 2026, this major European tour will feature the "Unholy Trinity" of Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Funeral as support.
• New Music: Lord Ahriman has indicated that while the band is keeping a low profile for most of 2026, they are currently focusing on writing their next studio album.
