The Black Dahlia Murder is an American melodic death metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2001. Their name is famously derived from the 1947 unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, nicknamed the "Black Dahlia".


Recent Activity and 2026 Tour
The band is currently active in a new era following the death of founding frontman Trevor Strnad in 2022.

  • "Spring Fling 2026" U.S. Tour: The band recently announced a major headlining trek across the United States, running from April 2 to May 2, 2026. They will be supported by The Acacia Strain, Disembodied Tyrant, and Corpse Pile.
  • European Tour: In early 2026, they are co-headlining the Heaven Shall Burn: Heimat Over Europe Tour alongside Heaven Shall Burn, with dates in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland.
  • New Music: Their tenth studio album, Servitude, was released on September 27, 2024, via Metal Blade Records. It is their first full-length release with Brian Eschbach on lead vocals.
