Suffocation is a legendary American death metal band from Centereach, New York, formed in 1989. They are widely hailed as the pioneers of technical death metal and are credited with creating the blueprint for the genre—including the "slam" riffs that influenced the birth of deathcore.
2026 North American Tour
The band is currently preparing for a major North American tour in Spring 2026, primarily supporting Cradle of Filth along with Ghost Bath and Cultus Black.

Current Lineup (2026)
While founding vocalist Frank Mullen retired from full-time touring in 2018, the band continues with a powerful lineup led by founding guitarist Terrance Hobbs.

Latest Music
The band's ninth and most recent full-length album, Hymns from the Apocrypha, was released on 3 November 2023. It is the first studio album to feature Ricky Myers on vocals and has been praised as one of their most sonically punishing releases to date.
