Hackney Diamonds is the 24th British (and 26th American) studio album by The Rolling Stones. released on 20 October 2023. It was the band's first album of original material since 2005's A Bigger Bang and their first following the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.


Critical Success & Awards
  • Grammy Award Winner: The album won Best Rock Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2025.
  • Chart Topper: It reached #1 in 20 countries, including the UK, Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands.
  • Slang Origin: The title is London slang for the shattered glass left on the ground after a smash-and-grab robbery.

Star-Studded Collaborations
Produced by Andrew Watt, the album features a "who's who" of music legends:

  • Lady Gaga & Stevie Wonder: Featured on the gospel-inspired epic "Sweet Sounds of Heaven".
  • Paul McCartney: Plays bass on the punk-infused "Bite My Head Off".
  • Elton John: Plays piano on "Get Close" and "Live by the Sword".
  • Charlie Watts: Appears posthumously on drums for "Mess It Up" and "Live by the Sword" (recorded in 2019).
  • Bill Wyman: The former Stones bassist reunited with the band for the first time since 1989 to play on "Live by the Sword".

What's Next?
In late 2025, Ronnie Wood confirmed that a follow-up album is already "done" and scheduled for release in 2026. This upcoming record reportedly uses surplus material from the Hackney Diamonds sessions, which produced 23 finished tracks in total.
