• Improved Quality: The album had a significantly better production value than their previous works, largely due to Burns bringing professional equipment like Mesa Boogie amps to Brazil.
• Cover Art Controversy: The cover features Nightmare in Red by Michael Whelan. Roadrunner Records originally intended for the band to use another Whelan painting, but that art was instead given to the band Obituary for their album Cause of Death.
• Recording Details: To save money, the band recorded between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Though Paulo Jr. is credited as bassist, the bass duties were largely handled by Andreas Kisser and Max Cavalera, with Paulo only performing the solo on "Stronger Than Hate".
